

Joel S. Klein, MD
Allergy Specialist/Immunologist
Dr. Joel S. Klein joined Allergy and Asthma Consultants, Ltd. in
July 2008. A native of Chicago, he received his
B.A. from Northwestern University and a M.S. in Physiology from University of Illinois-Urbana prior
to medical school. He received his M.D. from University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School,
where he graduated with honors as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. His residency training was in internal medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical
Center. Dr. Klein’s training in pediatric and adult allergy/immunology
was a 3-year fellowship at Mayo Clinic during 1992-1995. Since
1995, he has been in clinical practice in the north suburban Chicago
area.
Dr. Klein is a past president of the Illinois Society of Allergy, Asthma and
Immunology and is currently the society’s historian. He has an
academic appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Rush Medical College and regularly
presents lectures on allergy/immunology to medical students, interns and residents at Skokie (formerly
Rush North Shore) Hospital. Dr. Klein has authored and
co-authored a number of publications in the specialty of allergic diseases. He has been recognized by Castle Connelly as a top allergist in the Chicago
area.
Dr. Klein is
board-certified and re-certified in Allergy/Immunology and Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology and of the
American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. Dr. Klein is on
the medical staffs of North Shore University Health Systems (Highland Park Hospital, Evanston
Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital and Skokie Hospital), Lake Forest Hospital, Advocate Condell Hospital and
Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
